January 2013 - SAFETY ALERT RECALL
If you have one of these bikes, do not hesitate to bring it to Seaside Cycle so we can take care of it for you. It does not matter if you purchased the bike from us. We will remove the fork and send it back to Specialized for a rapid turnaround. Not all forks need to be fixed, but removal and inspection is neccessary to insure your safety. You will not be charged for this service and you will recieve a credit to spend for your inconvenience. More Details at Specialized.com
TREK SAFETY RECALL
Trek Bicycle corporation announced a recall as of October 2011 for 2012 District and select FX models. Certain seatpost clamps were assembled with bolts that were exhibiting hydrogen embrittlement, which could cause them to fail. TODSON USA ANNOUNCES RECALL OF TOPEAK BABY SEAT II -
PARENTS READ THIS AND SHARE!
The announcement begins "If a child places his or her fingers in the opening at the grab bar’s hinge mechanism and the consumer (parent or guardian) lifts the grab bar to remove the child from the seat, the child’s fingertips can be caught in the hinge mechanism. If this occurs there is a possibility of a laceration of the fingertip to near amputation hazards depending on the situation.
